Scene 8: A Way Out

Exterior DEMONIC ARENA – NIGHT

The aftermath of the battle with the Demon Lord leaves Be-el standing alone in the center of the arena, his dark energy still pulsing around him. The demons disperse, whispering amongst themselves about Be-el’s power and the fate of the Demon Lord. Be-el looks around, a determined expression on his face.

Interior DEMONIC CAVERN – LATER

Be-el sits in a secluded cavern, his thoughts heavy. He looks at his reflection in a pool of dark water, contemplating his next move.

BE-EL (to himself, softly) Beatrice… I cannot wait in Hell until Judgment Day. I need to find a way back to the world of men. I need to be with you. But for that, I need outside help.

He clenches his fists, determination hardening his features.

BE-EL (to himself, decisively) Seraphina… she might be able to help. But it will cost me. Some of my power, gone, to avoid detection. It’s a risk I must take.

Exterior HELL – A DESOLATE PLANE – NIGHT

Be-el stands in the middle of a barren, desolate plane. He closes his eyes, focusing his energy. A faint glow surrounds him as he calls out to Seraphina with his mind.

BE-EL (in a whisper) Seraphina, hear me. I need you.

Interior HEAVEN – SERAPHINA’S SANCTUM

Seraphina, a beautiful angel with long, flowing golden hair that cascades down her back like a waterfall of light, feels the call in her heart. Her skin glows with an ethereal radiance, her eyes the color of a clear blue sky, filled with compassion and sorrow. She stops her prayers, sensing Be-el’s plea. Her wings, shimmering with every color of the dawn, are folded gracefully behind her.

SERAPHINA (softly) Be-el…

Exterior HELL – DESOLATE PLANE – NIGHT

A soft light appears before Be-el, growing brighter until Seraphina steps through, her presence serene and comforting. She looks at Be-el with deep love and sadness, her heart aching at the sight of him.

SERAPHINA (softly) Be-el, I heard your call. What is it you need?

BE-EL (struggling with his emotions) Seraphina, I need your help. I need to escape Hell and return to the world of men. I cannot stay here any longer. Beatrice… she needs me.

Seraphina’s eyes fill with tears, understanding the depth of his longing. Inside, her heart breaks, knowing that his desire to be with Beatrice will always overshadow any feelings he might have for her.

SERAPHINA (thought) He calls for me, yet it is not me he longs for. How can love be so cruel, that it blinds him to my own?

SERAPHINA (sadly) Be-el, you know the risks. If the other angels discover you have escaped, they will hunt you down. And opening a portal for you will cost you some of your power. Are you sure this is what you want?

BE-EL (firmly) I have to do this, Seraphina. I cannot let Beatrice suffer alone. I cannot wait until Judgment Day. Please, help me.

Seraphina steps closer, her hand gently touching Be-el’s cheek, feeling the warmth of his skin, wishing that touch could convey her love.

SERAPHINA (tenderly) I have always loved you, Be-el. Even though you never loved me as you love Beatrice, I have always wanted what’s best for you. It breaks my heart to see you suffer.

Be-el looks at her, conflicted. He sees her beauty, her kindness, but his heart belongs elsewhere.

BE-EL (softly) Seraphina, I do care for you. You have always been kind to me. But my heart belongs to Beatrice. I am sorry if that hurts you.

Seraphina nods, tears streaming down her face, each drop a testament to her unspoken love and the pain she endures.

SERAPHINA (thought) Every word he speaks feels like a dagger to my heart. Yet, I cannot turn away from him. My love is both my strength and my torment.

SERAPHINA (brokenly) I know, Be-el. And I accept it. My love for you is unconditional. I will do anything to help you, even if it means losing you forever.

BE-EL (gratefully) Thank you, Seraphina. Your kindness and love mean more to me than you know.

Seraphina takes a deep breath, her hands glowing with divine energy. She knows the price she will pay for this act of love.

SERAPHINA (solemnly) Hold still, Be-el. This will take a lot of my strength, and you will feel weakened. But it will open a portal to the world of men.

She begins chanting softly, her voice filled with emotion.

SERAPHINA (chanting) “Portam aperi inter mundos, ut angelus cadens transire possit. Potestas mea, pretium eius. Amor meus, eius via.”

A portal begins to form, shimmering with celestial light. Be-el feels a pull on his power, weakening him, but he remains resolute.

SERAPHINA (teary-eyed) Go now, Be-el. Be with Beatrice. Find the happiness you seek. And remember, I will always be here for you.

BE-EL (softly) Thank you, Seraphina. I will never forget your sacrifice.

Be-el steps through the portal, feeling the shift from Hell to the world of men. As he disappears, Seraphina falls to her knees, exhausted and heartbroken, yet content in having helped the one she loves.

SERAPHINA (thought) Though he walks away from me, I will never stop loving him. My heart will always carry his burden, my soul always yearn for his return.

Interior HUMAN WORLD – NIGHT

Be-el emerges in a dark forest, the air fresh and cool. He takes a deep breath, feeling the weight of his diminished power but also the hope of being closer to Beatrice.

BE-EL (whispering) Beatrice, I’m coming.

FADE OUT.
